Welcome! So glad you’re here! I’m a wife, mom of 2, teacher, and coach who thrives on continuous learning and reading all the books. If you’re like me, you have about 5 books that are started but not finished, 6 podcasts you’re trying to stay up to date on, and a bunch of laundry and dishes calling your name. But, those will just have to wait!
I’m an educator, just like many of you. Yet, even my Master’s degree in “Reading” did not prepare me to actually teach children how to read. (What?! I Know. Shocker!) You may have similar sentiments. Since then, I’ve had to scope out all of the training myself. The more I learn, the more I realize that this information needs to be accessible to teachers. That’s why I’m passionate about sharing the Science of Reading whenever and wherever I can. My goal is, and will always be, doing what is best for kids. Often, that is through mentoring other teachers like you!
I’m here to support you along your journey. Plus, I’m right there with you. I teach, glean from mentors, and implement what I learn. I am here to listen to your needs or wants, and then help you get there. Each step of the way, we will focus on using evidence based practices that are aligned to how the brain learns to read. Let’s get started!
Meredith has been teaching for 8 years. She has taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade in South and Central Florida. She has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University and a Master’s in Reading from Barry University, as well as ESOL and Gifted endorsements.
